Ramayana Ballet is an art of traditional dance performed magnificently. The story in Ramayana Ballet is taken from Serat Rama (a Java book) that describes the relief at Prambanan temple. Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin or more familiarly called by Charlie Chaplin ever watch the staging of this play and said "If the world knew this would Ramayana Festival, the visitors would come flocking to Indonesia. I'll tell the world,there is marvelous art in Central Java that makes me very impressed". Ramayana Ballet combines between dance and drama without dialogue. Drama without dialogue is indicated for the audience in different language can enjoy the plot through each scene. The staging of the Ramayana ballet was first performed in 1961.
Currently, the Ramayana ballet is still staged sustainable manner. Staging is usually carried each once of two day and every day on holiday. There are two types of theater, namely in the Tri Murti buildings (indoor) and outdoor which have Prambanan temple as background. The following is a schedule of the Ramayana ballet performances in 2015.
